DESAPARICIÓN DE HÁBITAT

Habitat extinction, 2021 [3.2], is a handmade glass structure that recreates a nest of the greater short-toed lark (Calandrella brachydactyla) that the artist came across in the Delta. The area is regularly used by 35% of species included in the EU’s bird protection legislation, yet many have disappeared (such as the Botaurus stellaris or Charadrius morinellus), or else their populations have been reduced because of urbanisation, air and noise pollution, accidents with built elements or hunting. Desaparición de hábitat, 2021, es una estructura de vidrio elaborado artesanalmente que recrea un nido de terrera común (Calandrella brachydactyla) con el que se encontró el artista en el Delta. El 35 % de las especies incluidas en la normativa europea que protege a las aves utiliza regularmente el Delta, y sin embargo, numerosas especies han desaparecido (como el Botaurus stellaris o el Charadrius morinellus) o han reducido su población por la urbanización, la contaminación atmosférica y sonora, los accidentes con elementos construidos o la caza.
